Jean Paul Charles
French, autodidact, joins three major qualities to integrate
this singular professional category of "luthiers".
1) Graduate from the École Nationale Supérieure
des Arts Appliqués et Métiers d'Art - Paris XVII in 1977.
2) 25 years dedicated to the Mandolin, with 2 CDs Jazz oriented as a composer and 2 CDs as special featured.
3) Natural disposition to work on wood since the childhood years, creating and building toys with the help of his father.
His passion for the Mandolin turned him into a kind of "alchemist", trying to build up the timber, the sound projection, the aesthetics and hand ability of this instrument.
The fact of living in Brazil since 1995 brought him the opportunity to obtain amazing Brazilian solid woods for his manufacturing.
The workshop is located in the Salvador Bahia Historical Center.
Jean Paul also demonstrates to be a fair Choro style player in many opportunities, side by side with some of the best musicians of Bahia.
